It wasn't until Patrick House was in college that he really started putting on weight. While pursuing his degree in business management at Delta State University, he was an offensive lineman for the school's football team and consumed large quantities of food to maintain that position. An injury forced him to stop playing, but he continued to maintain the same diet. At 400 pounds, married and the father of two young boys, Patrick's weight negatively affected every aspect of his life. Determined to have a better, healthier life with his wife and family, Patrick auditioned for The Biggest Loser.
Since the show, Patrick has been traveling all over the country doing motivational speaking and appearances. He developed a program for elementary and middle school students called Lean on Me. Lean on Me helps kids make better food selections, have fun while exercising and it also has an anti-bullying component. Patrick won a national award from the American Medical Association - Alliance for Health Awareness Programs. He has spoken to almost 20,000 kids across the country with the program.
Patrick’s book, “As Big as a House,” chronicles his journey on The Biggest Loser and features his diet and exercise tips. Patrick has continued the healthy lifestyle and is even 10 pounds lighter than he was at the finale.
